Kathy Hilton and Maria Arnold show their stuff in THE CAPER, a minor but well-made soft- core opus about two clever con men who get their comeuppance.
Hilton plays the photographer, taking photos of Arnold and an anonymous fellow model. Male model Terry arrives and she photographs him with a risqué moment of him getting a hard-on (not shown as this is strictly soft-core porn). Hilton wants to help “work out” his problem so they have sex.
When he leaves, his underpants are accidentally left behind, a switch on the Cinderella tale. (He also stole her purse.) Next male model Tommy arrives. Arnold wants to stay on to watch, so Hilton has them pose together in tableaux for her print magazine spread. One thing leads to another and soon they are humping.
Terry returns and turns out he didn’t steal the purse. Hilton makes love to him again and soon there are four on the floor having at it (including simulated fellatio, where the viewer can’t see what’s going on).
A phone call interrupts them: announcing that Hilton’s purse has been found in Long Beach. The gimmick of the con is finally revealed: as Sally leaves on a wild goose chase to retrieve her purse, the two guys clean out her house of valuables, Terry having indeed stolen her keys from the purse. A detective soon arrives to make the arrest.
In the aftermath Maria and Kathy have a lesbian sex scene, with near-silent murmuring to each other and an elegant ending to the film of the two ladies nestled together asleep on the floor head to foot.
With a quality vintage jazz soundtrack and colorful visuals of the house this is a simple, direct winner – a short story suitable to an hour-long film.
