Based on Finnish mythology, this movie traces the exploits of Lemminkainen as he woos the fair Annikki and battles the evil witch Louhi. Louhi kidnaps Annikki to compel her father to build for her a Sampo, a magical device that creates salt, grain, and gold. When Lemminkainen tries (and fails) to recover the Sampo, Louhi steals the sun, plunging the world into frozen darkness.

Thank you very much for re-uploading this title. Appreciate all your efforts. Cheers.
I heard a story a VERY long time ago, a folk tale for children.
It involved a magic salt grinder [a salt grinder ground rock salt into usable powder].
it produced endless salt, But if you turned it one way and sang a song it produced grain, if you turned it the other way singing the same song it ground out gold dust.
All i remember really is the wife of the owner getting greedy, and trying to use it without proper deference, and the grinder responded by fountaining out an endless stream of salt that buried the wife, and eventually turned the sea salty.
When I saw the story of the Sampo, and no one could say exactly what a sampo was, Only what it did, it reminded me of the tale.
A Sampo was a salt grinder.
