“A film shot in 1992 that looks like 1978, starring two middle aged actor producers shooting their shot and creating an ultimately quite charming indie garbage film. All the best tenets. Drugs and thugs, ninjas, strippers, vague Vietnam backstory, cheap fx, rom com montage, and just a really fantastically loose relationship with plot and tone. Worth a watch just for the strange details included in each characterization of the bumbling detectives who resemble more Morty Seinfeld more than a hard boiled detective.”
