As odd, dark and meandering McDowell’s best-known film is – the one-of-a-kind Thundercrack! – Lunch is relatively light-hearted, fast-paced fun! McDowell’s schizophrenia if this is low-rent art or arty pornography is given full-reign. If Paul Bartel or either of the Kuchar brothers ever tried to make a straight-up XXX porn film, it would probably look a lot like this.
