Ultra weird flick from the director of DON’T DELIVER US FROM EVIL, made with one of the stars of that film (and the director’s partner) Jeanne Goupil. It’s about a dollmaker who meets a girl who aspires to be doll like, and they get together and get married.
The guy takes his bride home and washes her lovingly in the bath with this odd glove / washcloth, then dresses her up like one of his dolls in bed, and then says goodnight and leaves. The scenes of Goupil dressed as a doll are exceedingly odd. Eventually she gets tired of no physical contact and starts hanging out with the gardener, which can only end up badly. The couple have a big confrontation afterwhich she goes to see the gardener and the guy gets a new ‘doll’ to play with, this time a it’s a very young girl!
It’s a bizarre mix of exploitation, art house perviness, cult, drama, you name it.
