gerrie1980 is quite correct about the East German made Westerns: the ones I’ve seen have been very competent as film productions, with adequate or better budgets and production values, and they have been a lot more sympathetic in their depictions of Native Americans than Hollywood typically was — at least up until films like “Soldier Blue” and “Little Big Man” came along.
