What a direct steal. Poster art includes an iconic painting done of the face of Fredric March as ‘Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde’ (1931) . It’s appeared several places in the world of comic art, notably as the cover of ‘Famous Monsters of Filmland 1967 Yearbook’ At least they showed good taste in the rip-off! Actually, this picture is from the “(Famous Monsters of Filmland) Do-It-Yourself Monster Make-Up Handbook”, originally created for Warren Publications by legendary makeup artist Dick Smith in 1965. (It was later reprinted by Starlog Press, and perhaps others.)
The makeup tutorials were presented in order from the simplest to the most complex – and this was the 2nd-to-last in the book. The model under this “Mr. Hyde” re-creation was Noah DeFeo, a young man of only 20 years at the time.
