A massive meteor falls to Earth, and from it emerges the three-headed King Ghidrah, who must defeat the combined forces of Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra. Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan are the heroes saving earth – although they destroy much of Japan in the process! The hero’s reluctantly join forces to defeat Ghidrah and in the process take turns getting knocked out and then stepping up to carry the battle. The Fairy Twins are a nice add. So is the sinister sub plot regarding the Princess.
This movie introduces Godzilla’s most popular villain, King Ghidorah! With Ghidorah threatening to destroy Earth, it requires the combined strength of Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra to stop him. By the way, this is the first movie that Godzilla journeys into as “the good guy.”

Wow, wasn’t aware of a version with commentary. Thanks!
Ah OK, the commentary is from the U.S. cut released on DVD by Classic Media back in 2007. It doesn’t line up with this Japanese cut, but it’s still good to have it here. Thanks again.
