Jo returns to Japan for his parents funeral who were killed in tribal warfare in Africa. After the funeral he misses the boat and ends up in a town where he becomes acquainted with a teenage girl and her grandfather. When the girl’s brother is murdered, Jo feels an obligation to find out the truth behind the murder and finds out that everything is connected to a factory manufacturing poison gas for Third World buyers.
