In the future a disaster has decimated the world’s population. In this postapocalyptic world a woman travels through a, now almost empty, city to “go west, to the sea” where she hopes that a better life will be possible. Most survivors have adopted a violent way of life to survive in this harsh world and the woman is forced to resort to violent means herself in order not to be killed. In the city she encounters a man, a member of the Morning Patrol. The Morning Patrol has taken as its goal to kill any remaining survivors they spot in the city as a “solution” in a world where life can be worse than death. Despite this, the man decides to help the woman pass through the city, thereby risking to become a target of the Morning Patrol himself./p>
