A warrior does battle against the evil Medusa, her army of stone warriors and a monstrous dragon. Apart from “CLASH OF THE TITANS” this is the only other screen depiction of the ancient myth of Perseus. Although this cannot compete with “CLASH” in the special effects department (Medusa is portrayed as a walking tree here) it has a lot more action in the form of battles and hand to hand combat which ultimately is what action and fantasy fans want. Richard Harrison scores points over Harry Hamlin in his portrayal of Perseus and was one of the more camera friendly leading men in this unfairly maligned genre and actually went on to a lengthy, albeit trashy, screen career.
