During one of his concerts, in Parma, Paganini re-lives his life and anticipates the end. It is a tempestuous sea of memories, of licentiousness and foolishness, as well as erotic obsessions, which mingle with the giddy heights of success. From Vienna to Venice, from here to Genoa and Paris, passing from one inn and from one triumph to the next, worshiped by crowds of hysterical women, adulated by sovereigns and pursued by creditors, Paganini travels with his adored son Achille, constantly restless and extravagant in a eddy of excesses and glory.

Klaus Kinski believed that he lived through the same experiences as the legendary “devil violinist” Niccolò Paganini, who set all of nineteenth-century Europe into a frenzy and through whose personality Kinski offers an incredibly profound and honest insight into his own life; a life of extremities.
