Susan Winter is dedicated to find her fiancé, Bruce Barton, who disappeared in a remote area of Mexico some three years ago. She gets businessman Marty Melville to finance the expedition and he hopes to recoup his costs by finding uranium in the area. Along with her friend Russ Bradford and pilot Lee Brand, they defy the Mexican authorities to travel to same area where Barton’s plane crashed. What they find there are giant creatures, mutations resulting from the high level of radioactivity. They also find a giant, one-eyed man.
