“Come with us on a typical day in the busy office of the Harris Company as we find the loyal employees busy at their assigned tasks” — which, we assume, is screwing around since that’s all anyone at the Harris Company seems to do. As a matter of fact, we haven’t a clue what business the Harris Company is even supposed to be engaged in other than screwing around. But screwing around is all the plot you’re gonna find at The Office Party, another glorious celebration of Texan sleaze from producer WHITE BOYD and the director of Scarlet Negligee.
Boss man Mr. Marks (BYRON LORD) “likes to work close to his employees,” especially Maxine (JUDY FARR), his private secretary, to whom he gives “a little more dictation” on his office couch….
Carl (LARRY TANNER), the office manager, “manages very well” with Joyce (MICHELLE MICHELLE), yet another hot-to-trot secretary with high hair….
Chuck, the overage “office boy,” tries to rub lipstick off his fly. “Big deal,” says the secretary whose lipstick was left on Chuck’s pants. “Just look at these teeth marks,” she says, showing Chuck the marks on her boobs….
Mr. Jacobs (ARTIE BROOKS), a fuddy-duddy field representative, is yanked into the Janitor’s Room by another horny secretary who attacks him and, oh, how funny it is to see a shy, middle-aged dullard get manhandled by a sexy strumpet: “Oh, my goodness! I hardly know you!” It’s even funnier when the gay janitor catches them and almost passes out: “The most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”
But “not too smart” Bob (director RON SCOTT, first seen picking his nose) can’t get anywhere with Janet (DIANNE DAVIS), a cute little steno girl who can’t stand him but agrees to a date anyway. Bob is ecstatic because he thinks Janet is the perfect mixture of “beauty and innocence.” Janet is actually a semi-lesbian and part-time ho who gets it on with her galpal before going to the movies with Bob, then does it with “customer” Carl, Bob’s roommate, after going to the movies with Bob.
By the time the titular office party rolls around, it’s positively redundant. Nevertheless, the party turns into an immediate orgy featuring such sights as stripping secretaries; Chuck putting on a bra; the gay janitor found in the closet with Danny, the switchboard operator; a cameo from the microphone; and a revealing ad-lib from actor Artie Brooks who stops a gal from tugging on his underwear: “I got two pair of drawers on so I don’t get a hard-on!”
Oddly, everyone has sex with their underwear on. Though done for legal reasons back then, today it looks like a very strange, very specific fetish. But a word of warning: “The producers of this motion picture do not in any way approve of or concur with the low moral practices that were depicted in this motion picture.” You bet they don’t.
